| What is Professional Learning?
The Department of Professional Learning plans, coordinates, and delivers all courses, workshops, endorsements, and training events of Pioneer Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA). The Department of Professional Learning offers regularly scheduled courses as well as on-request training events and custom-designed training to meet individual school and system needs. The Department coordinates the awarding of Professional Learning Units (PLU’s). Professional Learning services are delivered to teachers, administrators, and a variety of support personnel serving all grade levels.
Pioneer Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) is committed to building the capacity of educators in the region through courses, workshops, consortiums, and other activities. Endorsements are offered in Teacher Support Specialist, Reading and Gifted. An annual needs assessment is conducted via in-house meetings in each of the 14 school systems in addition to on-line surveys throughout the year. Pioneer Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) believes that effective professional development is a long-term process, best delivered within the school environment. Therefore, the scheduled course listing represents just one aspect of the professional development efforts in the Pioneer RESA area.
Please remember new state regulations require all coursework to be in one of the areas listed below in order for you to receive Professional Learning Unit (PLU) credit toward certification.
