Character Through The Arts (CTTA) was a four-year, $1.7 million dollar grant partnership funded through the U. S. Department of Education’s Fund for the Improvement of Education Partnerships in Character Education Program. It was funded from 2002 until 2007.

The purpose of Character Through The Arts was to integrate arts agencies/teaching artists and the Artful Learning™ education reform model with proven character education strategies to determine the impact  this integration had on moral character and academic achievement.

In the “teachers’ corner” at this website you will find a large library of extensive, cross-curricular units written that employ the CTTA model.

ST:CTTA

School Transformation:Character Through The Arts (ST: CTTA) was a four –year, $1.1 million dollar grant funded through the US Department of Education, Office of Innovation & Improvement.   The program was an Arts In Education Model Development & Dissemination Program (AEMDD). It was funded from 2006 to 2010.

The purpose of School Transformation:Character Through The Arts was to integrate the arts and arts-based strategies into the core elementary and middle school academic curriculum in addition to establishing character education as a key strategy and goal in school transformation.
